Meet Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn - known in the west much more often as "Saladin". Military Commander, Conqueror, and ultimately a Sultan, he trounced the Franks quite a few times during the crusades!

I'm a bit surprised people don't call him Saladin the Great with how much he is praised already.
